So often, the church is known for what it's against.
Jesus calls us to show the world what we’re FOR.

Sundays @ 10:30am
In-Person + Online

Welcome to Brentview

At Brentview, we are unrelenting in our pursuit of Jesus. We desire nothing more than to be Jesus-Centred people and a Jesus-Centred church. We don’t provide an experience to consume, but a community of formation doing all that we can to invite people wherever they are, to live like Jesus wherever they go. Join us on Sundays at 10:30am and then take “next steps” to fully engage with us. We are FOR Jesus which also means we are FOR Calgary and FOR the world.

GIVE BACK

Love our city and world! “FOR Calgary” initiatives and serving on a Ministry Team are two ways to engage.

  • Sunday Gatherings are the primary way we gather as a church to worship together, learn the Scriptures, pray for one another, and create space to hear from the Spirit. No matter where you are in your faith journey, you are welcome. We do all that we can to help regular people discover Jesus—how to be with him, become like him, and do what he did.

    Lean More

  • Gather with us for an evening of worship and encounter with God. This is a prayer and worship space where we centre our hearts on Jesus and listen for the voice of the Spirit. These happen about once per quarter.

  • One Groups are the primary expression of Group life at Brentview. Each week, these groups gather together to tie a seamless thread between what we do on Sunday and what we do throughout the week.

    Lean More

  • Alpha is a short-term Group experience designed for anyone who is either new to Christianity or is exploring faith for the first time.

    Lean More

  • Freedom Session lasts for about 3 quarters (Fall, Winter, Spring) and is a Group intensive designed to help people process shame, find healing, and grow their identity in the Jesus-centred life.

    Lean More

  • Ready to help out? It takes many volunteers to make Sundays (and beyond!) at Brentview a reality. Joining a team is a great way to make new friends, make a difference, and ultimately an invitation to love like Jesus as someone who serves others. At Brentview, we all generously step in and do our part. We are contributors not consumers. There are several areas where you can join a Ministry Team: kids, students, production, hospitality, meals, music, and more.

    Lean More

  • We regularly partner with local organizations in the work of peacemaking, offer hampers of food to people struggling to make ends meet, share food through our outdoor community pantry, dedicate a Sunday morning to Serve the City, and more.

  • Generosity - “We contribute to our shared kingdom work.”
We think Christians should be the most generous people (2 Corinthians 9:6) on planet earth to support worthy causes, and there is no organization with more potential to change the world than the local church (Ephesians 3:10)! This world-changing group, called a church, is a community project—finances and all. And of course, all donations are tax deductible.

  • Welcome to Brentview is a lunch-based course that introduces you to the Brentview story, what we believe, and our rhythms of life as a church family.

We would love to meet you and help you get connected into life with Brentview. These take place after our Sunday Gathering, in our chapel, about every 6 weeks or so. If you are new or new-ish to our church family, you are invited!

  • Following Jesus involves three things: Be with Jesus. Become like Jesus. Do what Jesus did.

Primarily designed for our One Groups, The Practices are video-based teachings on one of the nine core spiritual practices that we engage in as apprentices of Jesus. Join a One Group community to engage. They are also available for personal and/or family use on our website.

  • We have some plans in the works. The hope is to launch the first short-term course in Fall of 2025.

The Practices

Reorganizing Life Around the Way of Jesus

We hear the language “follower of Jesus” all the time, but what does it mean to be a disciple, or apprentice, of the rabbi from Nazareth? Put simply, it means you re-organize your life around three goals: Be with Jesus, become like Jesus, do what Jesus did.

Our resources are meant to be used in community – the place where deeply ingrained ways of living are re-patterned in the way of Jesus, as we collectively adopt his practices.

Who we are FOR

We are FOR Calgary and seek to partner with those who are agents of peace and justice in our city. The Scriptures teach us that we are called to love our neighbours and to seek the shalom (the peace, wholeness, welfare, justice) of the city we inhabit. Join us as we seek the shalom of Calgary by being FOR Calgary!

  • Our immediate neighbours—students and under-resourced persons—who utilize our Community Pantry, at the front of our church campus.

  • The Mustard Seed

  • Hope Mission

  • and many more!
