One Groups
One Group’s Registration is Open!
What is a One Group?
One Groups are the primary expression of Group life at Brentview. Each week, these groups gather together to tie a seamless thread between what we do on Sunday and what we do throughout the week.
Why join a One Group?
We were made to do life with others. In Christ, we become a new kind of family. Groups bring people together to practice the way of Jesus together. They eat, pray, reflect on the sermon, and do missional initiatives (FOR Calgary) together.
How do I join a One Group?
We open registration for One Groups at the beginning of each quarter! There will be opportunities to join a group in September, January, and April.
How do I know what One Group to join?
Many groups are designed for specific ages or stages of life. Then there are groups that are open to anyone! Have a look through group descriptions and see if there is a good fit for you.
Other One Group FAQs
WHAT TOPIC WILL ONE GROUPS FOCUS ON?
One Groups will be guided discussions based on the current sermon series, however your leader will help you discern what is best for your group.
WHEN DO ONE GROUPS MEET?
The dates and times are determined by each One Group leader. When registration opens for One Groups you will be able to determine which dates and times are available.
CAN MY SMALL GROUP BE A ONE GROUP?
Yes!! We are encouraging Small Groups to consider the benefits of spiritual disciplines and choosing to join the same conversation many ministries within the church will be focused on. Specific training has been developed for One Group leaders; we would encourage someone from your Small Group to receive the training to ensure your group has the best experience possible. Contact Camila @ camila.freire@brentviewbaptist.com if you want to take the training!
WHO IS LEADING EACH ONE GROUP?
All One Groups will be led by a trained leader. Leaders will complete video and live training to prepare them to lead a One Group. Leader training will involve helpful lessons to improve the overall experience for all One Group participants, as well as a thorough review of the content to ensure all leaders are well prepared.
WHAT KIND OF SUPPORT IS AVAILABLE FOR A ONE GROUP LEADER?
Our care of One Group leaders is very important to us. There is curriculum training before each One Group begins and leaders training is done through three short videos. We also want to be available for our leaders whenever and however they need us.
